TenantTalks© Program is designed to promote a student's understanding of the “ business” of his home. We do this through an integrated approach of classroom instruction, easy reference manuals, and web-site assistance. The instruction process addresses selecting, acquiring, maintaining and terminating their rented residence. Strong emphasis is placed on balancing the student's knowledge of their rights and their responsibilities.
Our Mission is to empower a tenant for a successful rental relationship with their landlord. To accomplish this we provide legal and practical knowledge which can be quickly incorporated into the task of managing their home.
Purpose and Outcomes: This program is designed to expose the prospective or current tenant in planning, implementing and successfully participating in her rental process from start to finish. The student will acquire a mature perspective and user-friendly tools for addressing all aspects of home rental. If desired, these same tools may ultimately be used in home ownership. The program participants will enjoy their housing choices secure in their knowledge of problem-solving, negotiating, and financial planning for their long-term housing goals.
